ARMY RESCUED ANOTHER JUNGLE JUSTICE IN EDIM OTOP,CALABAR
Men of the Nigeria Army have rescued what will have been describe as fourth jungle justice in Edim Otop,Calabar.
The young boy was caught last night by combined efforts of youths and vigilante after stealing a Digital Video Disc player (DVD) in a house located in stream road off Edim Otop.
They boy was almost set ablaze around 11pm last night when Army officers arrived and took him away.
In June,Edim Otop street of Calabar municipal witnessed three jungle justice in a pace of one week. According to residents, they said the area in the past 6months has been under activities of hoodlums who walked shop to shop,house to house ,very comfortable looting them of their belongings ranging from phones,Television, money and even rapping young girls.
These has resulted to youths forming vigilante and moving round to get #500 from shops and #1000 from landlords in the area captioned security fee.
The youth leader in the area said "It got to a level it was unbearable,we took the laws into our hands because they will be back to commit more atrocities in two days time if we hand them over to the police,that's what has been happening but now the whole street is calm after three were set ablaze,there's been no incident of such acts again till last night".
Another resident in the area said "the place is now calm,honestly the right jungle justice is the best,it restore peace because the number one priority of hoodlums is survival,once its been threaten,you may not see them in such areas again."
Many wondered why someone will still go out to steal with the tension in the area and zero tolerance for thieves. The boy was advice to keep thanking God for saving his life.
While Elders in the area thank officer of the Nigeria Army For rescuing the situation.
