WHY DO POOR NIGERIANS HAVE MANY CHILDREN?

Nigeria is a country full of many poor people struggling and unable to provide the three basic needs of man despite how bless with natural resources the country is. The struggle is arising because of poor accountability on the side of those trusted with the role of managing our resources. This has given rise to poverty in the land but despite this high level of poverty Nigerians especially the poor ones still give birth to many children who deserves welfare too.

The uncontrollable aspect of Most Nigerians about child bearing has increase poverty in most homes making it look like they are less privileged from God and the society. It is worthy to note that the notion of less privileged is mostly the reflection of our actions and not God, all men were born equally the variation is our actions or decisions which are the product of what we think hence contributing to what we are.

The reasons poor Nigerians posses towards having many children is often on the ground that most will grow to become Better person in the society, Am looking for a female or male child, They will be assisted in farm work or business that need manual labour, Some back it up with religion view, others will say it's God that gives and man was born to procreate, Some see it as a pride or challenge among their peers or the need to have more so in case some die they won't be childless.

The analysis behind it is indeed poverty, poor people tend to have more time for themselves and that increases the chance of having multiple sex since they have energy that only get exhausted on bed. Most of the sexual intercourse is done without condom or any form of contraceptive because they can't even afford it. Religion view that allows and encourage marrying many wives has also given rise to poor people who worship God the most giving birth to many children with the hope that they will become success. The desire for a particular sex of a child be it male or female increases the number of children too and this is arising because of the inequality view of male and female child. While some wish for more female children so they can be married and earn them money from bride price which unfortunately most don't even get married others keep delivering with the hope of having many male children that will assist in farm or mannish works. Mental poverty is another rationale behind the habit of giving birth to many children, most poor men lack rational thinking as they are not even schooled or aware of the constant changing demands in the society, they only thing many know is to have sex like dogs. However the number at which children are said to be okay is a reflection of the society.

IMPLICATIONS OF GIVING BIRTH TO MANY CHILDREN
Giving birth to many children when you lack the resources to train them means they will be illiterate, as some will be school drop out and poss a threat to the society by involving in cultism, armed robbery, prostitution, terrorism,thuggery, kidnapping and other vices in the society. It also increases the rate of teenage pregnancy as parents won't have sufficient time to monitor their children. It places unrest in the family and increases hate,loss of conscience,begging and being mean to other members of the society. There is also a chance of not getting married and if they do divorce or marital crises is highly expected. Generally parents with high number of children are unhappy. However there is also a possibility that some of the children will be so well doing and rich later in life as we know many people in the society but this is generally scarce.

ADVISE
It is therefore necessary for parents to choose a healthy family planning that suit their income level and reflect the standard of the society. The Nigeria society under it health care scheme allows for the registration of just four children by parents hence if you have more than four children others won't benefit from the free health care services. Though many of these poor Nigerians are not aware of the need to have few number of children because they are illiterate and proper awareness has been created but we need not school knowledge to tell us to run when there is danger. The only good a man can do to himself is to plan his life, we are the product of our plans. Take a look at the society, a Man like Dangote who is the richest man in Africa and can so provide for even thousand children yet he has just two children. I understand it is his decision but with the society we are in with high rate of unemployment his decision is worthy of emulation,maybe its the secret to his riches. No doubt Man was born to procreate and fend for the children,that is what differentiate us from animals, if fending becomes so difficult let procreation become minimal. The society has not awarded any man for having high number of children but respect a man with just few children. Four children downward are okay in Nigeria till the trumpet sounds and if you more than four children their cry won't allow you to hear.
