THREE DEAD AND OTHERS INJURED IN UGEP CULT FRACAS

At least three people have been confirmed dead and some others wounded in the cult clash between Vikings & K K K Confraternity in Ugep,Yarkur Local Government Area of Cross River State.

 The fight which started yesterday has left the town deserted as members of each group are on their heels. Some of the residents in the area said they can now have peace atleast for this period of their absence. While some parents wept over the life style of their children calling cultism the easiest way to early grave.

 Police have swung into action in the area but no arrest has been made yet. 

 Early this month,the governor Prof Ben Ayade deployed soldiers to combat cultism in the state. Many including innocent persons have been arrested and are currently in Afukang Prison located in Calabar South. These security men should extend it search to even villages across the state because it is even more worse there.

 No month passes by without hearing of cult clash in the state and other states of the federation,Nigeria. What does that tell you? Cultism is now more resident in our area. It increases daily. More are killed,more are initiated,more secret groups emerge often. Youths in the same community, same family with same life rise against each other just because their choices are different. Oh love is death in us,I weep for this society. 

How do we get here and how do we get out of here when some government officials,security personnel,political appointees, elected leaders,legislators are alleged to be members of secret cult groups. Honestly let Christ just come so that we go back home to our default stage but till then this society need ethical cleansing and value reorientation.
