The eight children are alleged to have conspired to end the misery imposed on the family by their father and did succeed by hitting and strangling him to death. It was gathered their siblings who are sick are still in worse condition as they felt the demise of their father would be a turn around to better health.
Reacting to the news some resident of Sumaila Local Government Area described it as "sorrowful and a taboo" and the first of it kind in the area. One other Nigerian warn against having many children as it often result to such news, "This is one disadvantage with having high number of children, the capacity to care for them won't be there hence they grow wild ,become a big threat to you and others, always complain of no opportunity, fall ill easily and witchcraft becomes the alleged reason. However nothing is worth killing another let alone your father, i pray justice be done to deter others from such acts."
