AMASA DENIED CALL TO BAR FOR WEARING HIJAB

A Muslim girl have been denied call to bar for wearing hijab to the ceremony held recently in Abuja.

The girl identified as Amasa Firdaus is a second class upper graduate of law from the university of Illorin and a practicing Muslim.

Amasa was denied entry into the Ceremony after she blatantly refused to remove the hijab she wore despite repetition of directives and her sound knowledge of the legal ethics.

Nigerians have reacted on social media about the development with many groaning on the extent at which religion now conflict with etiquette of professions.

Some are of the happy expression that the denial is a justifiable sustenance of integrity cum dignity of the law profession.

Miss Faith reacted that "Religion has it Values, Law as a profession has it Ethics. The values of religion sustain it while the ethics of law equally dignify it. There's absolute need to comply and adjust always if you are interested in the both else make a preference and stay off the non-preferred."

Effiom Effiom contributed thus, "Am astonished that someone who went all through the law drill from the preliminary stage to this level didn't understand the need to give cizar what belong to cizar? Am force to believe her intention was nurtured."

"If at this level,Amasa is not obedient to the requirement of the law profession is it when the power would be vested on her. Let her go to the mosque or her home and practice the law there." Tony Adams said.

Other reactions thrilling the development sees Amasa action as possible of causing outrage in this era of religious intolerance.

It was gathered that, they were other Muslim girls including president Buhari's daughter who looked so beautiful without hijab and were call to bar amidst excitement from families and friends.

The decision to call Amasa to Bar if she finally removes her prestigious hijab depends on what the Council of Legal Education (CLE) decides but the young girl has vowed to fight until Women with hijab are called to Bar.

This is likely the first scenario the body would experience and Nigerians have advised those who ain't ready to step into any profession to stay off properly.
