WILL YOU STILL VOTE AYADE IN THE NEXT ELECTION? OBUDU INDIGENES REACT
Prof Ben Ayade became the governor of Cross River State in the 2015 gubernatorial election. And as usual a leader will have critics. Many have tag him as a blatant failure just withing two years.
Ayade came with a mandate to construct a super high way, seaport and garment factory among the less significant projects in the space of four years.
Garment factory is ready and working,(welldone)good numbers of Cross Riverians have been employed there though some are yet to be paid and others don't received salary as when due. Patience is one thing we in this region are born with, hence many are patience.
Super High way and Seaport projects are still far from reach. What's going on? Constructing the super high way has face some super challenges from the indigenes of the community in Akamkpa local Government Area where the road will cut across and The wildlife & forestry management. The case was however ruled in court in favour of Cross River State Government. Since then we have been waiting to see progress but the more we wait the less we see.
Moving from that, what about basic amenities like good roads, security, electricity etc. Roads in the state are bad in some areas that doesn't have a reputable mouthpiece. Security is as weak as the devil when it faces God. Cultism practice in broad day light, arm robbery, communal clashes. Lives are endanger except that of trees which are more protected because of it economic important.
Electricity in the state is only commendable in Calabar the headquarter of Cross River State. Local Governments like Obudu despite several cry and appeal to the state government, have not seen light for more than a year yet that's the home of the governor, digital governor.
These especially and others issues has prompted me to know the views of obudu people towards voting him again in the next election he has started campaigning for.
Agba Unimna: I won't vote Ayade again despite we are from thesame place because he hasn't done anything for Obudu.
Village chief: the village chief of a particular village in Obudu said "i campaign for Ayade last time despite his age because i know what it means to have a leader, I regret all those efforts and i won't go out to ask anyone to vote him again,he has failed us".
Ukwapu: I will still vote Ayade,he is the best governor so far,it's just Buhari or political parties differences that's affecting certain things."
Oscar igben: "me nor my family can't vote Ayade again,he doesn't love us. We have been without light for almost two years,no good roads, everything we have now is the effort of the past governor who isn't from Obudu."
Ukah Fred: "We are disappointed but i still want my brother to be there,Nigeria is passing through Recession, its not easy even with leaders but he should know a leader is most needed in difficult moments. I think he should just wakeup to certain things,he is good".
Ushang: "I won't vote for him again,he is just good in business and not leadership".
Pato: "Voting for Ayade is like voting for his younger brother frank,I don't want to vote for frank, they are just concern about their family".
Ruth: "I will still vote for Ayade because he gave my husband an appointment and so many others."
Unimke: "I will vote Ayade again because i believed he can turn things around. We just need to be patience".
The focus of every leader should be on the demands and needs of his people. You can't please someone by giving them what they don't need. If not atleast basic amenities what else?. Personally i know leaders are born and some are made,if you're not a born leader you can learn diligent and its start with listening to the voice of your govern. Ayade can do it more right, wakeup Prof or step aside,it will be more dignifying. Its only he who loves you that will say your mouth smells when its actually oozing. Our yearnings and lamentations are of love and not hate. Be motivated and Wake up sir!!.
