BEHOLD THE NEW BISHOP OF OGOJA DIOCES

His lordship Donatus Edet Akpan has been ordained the bishop of Ogoja diocese today 7/7/2017 according to the catholic tradition.
The ordination took place in ogoja and has many dignitaries in attendance. 

 Catholics in the diocese have expressed gratitude and unconditioned support for the new bishop.
Ogoja diocese have been without a bishop since 2013 when Dr. John Aya was transfered to Uyo diocese. 

His lordship Donatus Edet Akpan until his ordination was the parish priest of Holy Rosary Church, Wuse Abuja Archdiocese. He was born on 7th August 1952 at Ikot Ada Utor, Essien Udim Local Govt Area of Akwa Ibom State. He studied Philosophy and Theology at Bigard Memorial Seminary in 1975.

The new bishop was ordained priest on 12th October 1985 at St Anne’s Cathedral Ifuho, Ikot Ekpene by Most Rev Fitzgibon of Port Harcourt Diocese at the instance of His Eminence, Dominic Cardinal Ekandem.
