DOES EVERY FAILED APTITUDE TEST SIGNIFIES ABSENCE OF APTITUDE?

Aptitude is the inert ability or capacity to prosper in a specific field be it study or otherwise. It can be measured using a standard test instrument. In Nigeria Aptitude test was approved in 1972 in a conference in Ibadan as a measure of admitting students into various course of study. The practice is still in place till date but the high number of failure after excelling in jamb has drawn questions and attentions on the integrity of the test. The most asked question now is does every failed aptitude test means lack of aptitude?. People i caught up with reacted thus;.

Victor: "aptitude is inert, it is only expressed using figures,the manner of measuring it may contain errors. Hence not every failed aptitude test means lack of errors."

Adomi: "Considering all things to be equal i:e of approved standard and excluding negative practice,every failed aptitude test signifies lack of aptitude".

Victoria: "If every failed aptitude signifies lack of aptitude then every passed aptitude means presence of aptitude and with the experiences and observations i can debunk the fact. Parents pay money for their wards to end up in department of zero aptitude and they will keep paying till they graduate. It's wrong,integrity should be apply."

In Nigeria society parents influence on their wards to study courses like Law, Medicine, Engineering etc is on the increased because they want the best for their children not considering their aptitude. Lack of aptitude in any field means lack of interest and what doesn't interest you does not have your attention hence failure. This acts and other corrupt practices in administering Aptitude Test has placed many in areas they can't cope resulting to packaged and assisted graduates that can't express themselves hence contributing to high unemployment in Nigeria with corresponding shift of blame to the government for not providing job opportunities.

Every failed aptitude test signifies lack of aptitude if only the test has integrity and should be accepted by the respondents, parents and significant others.
