"419" SPECIALISTS ARRESTED IN CALABAR

Three people(two Men and a lady) who are alleged to be involved in Kidnapping, Car snatching , use of charms to extort money from residents in Calabar,The Cross River State Capital were arrested by Men of The Special Anti Robbery Squad along highway following a tip up and reports from the general public who have mostly been affected. 

They have been Unique Experiences shared by residents in the hands of these gentle hoodlums also known as "419". The unique told ordeal has it that they were looted inside the taxi unconsciously. One Miss Precious revealed "I entered a taxi going home, they were two passengers as i thought, an old man and a beautiful lady ,in my widest fear and caution i never suspected them to be "419" , The man greeted me and i responded that's was the last thing i knew. They began asking me how much do i have,where am i from and gave me his name as Cornel. I answered all the questions asked correctly,They drove me to my house and waited by the road side, I got back with all the money i had at home,still took them to the Automated Teller Machine(ATM) in Spar located close to cultural Center and withdrew hundred thousand for them. It was unbelievable but i was under a spell, they gave me just Two hundred Naira for my transport and asked me to walk up to a certain extent then say the lord's prayer. I did and that was when i realized myself. I wept but people who stopped to console me said they have passed through such thing recently." 

The former Governor of Cross River State Senator Liyel Imoke in 2010 banned the use of Motor Cycles within Calabar metropolis because of several recorded cases of robbery with bikes. Its was a welcomed and relieved gesture but of recent Taxies are used as comfortable robbery point. 

One Mr Uchena who also shared his ordeal said "these people are now widespread in the state,the three arrested should reveal others but the funny aspect is that they may not even know themselves. I was looted of five hundred thousand in just one hour using the same spell since then once am in a taxi,i don't say a word, some may not understand but its for the safety of me and my little money."

Its important for residents in Calabar and those planning of coming into the town to be aware of the new style of robbery going on withing the premise. Once in any public transport that avoid passengers even when they're going the same direction use wisdom and drop immediately. Many people have fallen victims to this new style of robbery, Many people who didn't believe they can be hallucinated or charms can work on them has fallen victims to this gentle looking bad men. Men involved in this dastardly acts look so responsible as if they can't can hurt, old looking men or women are involved too. The philosophy used is that to hurt you have to appear like unhurt,to be a successful criminal you have to appear like non. Be more guided in this month of "mba"and apply silence to unnecessary and necessary questions asked in public transport which are mostly for a direction. Its is also important to avoid free ride ,the society is now so wicked,it could be a ride to your painful death.

Some residents lament the level of insecurity in the country and not just Calabar as a city despite efforts by the government to ensure security of life and properties new style of crimes emerged daily. Cross River State government newly introduced Homeland Security who are stationed along strategic areas in the Calabar metropolis but its as if more security units more Crime units. The good people of Cross River state has appeal to The Police to extend it Expertise and deal with this ugly recent style of stealing and also advise those involved to choose a better life.
