LITIAM WHY ?

Whoever says i won't marry has never fallen in love!! This has been my gospel to friends since i fell in love with my Litiam but the more i sing it without fulfilling it the more scared i become. My fear soon turn to tears as Litiam broke the sudden news to me what's your plan for me? I was in tears because it is not an innocent question, someone might have told her what i have not or better than i have and i may be on the edge of loosing her. I could not answer the question but i wrote decoratively on a sheet of paper "my plan is to always love you". She walked out banging the door like i said otherwise. Ten minutes later,she text me "Restore it with marriage or forget about me,am not getting young." I read it with my heart beating fast like pot of beans on a gas cooker.

It was night time for sleep but to everyone else except me or whoever we are passing through same lane. I decided to keep my ears fed with music, Behold the second music i heard was Psquare "if i no get money,i get where to borrow". As early as possible, i got to my trusted friend's house with a countenance of sleepless night and borrowed money, enough money without dateline of paying back because he doesn't want me to take alternate route whenever i see him but i must pay back. i smile and had the momentum to marry my Litiam describing it as a dream coming through. Preparations started and i arrived Litiam compound for the payment of bride price which i see as unavoidable upgraded slave trading to whoever is in love. The conversation between me and her dad began;

Zedicus Piro: My in-laws i greet you all,
Litiam Dad: (with a heavy voice)We are not yet your in-law but we greet you too.
Zedicus Piro: Am Sorry,am just a man of faith, thank you for accepting my greetings my in-law in advance.
Litiam Dad: what are you here for ?
Zedicus Piro: To marry and manage your daughter.
Litiam Dad: By our tradition, your bride price money is two hundred thousand etc.
Zedicus Piro: Tradition of the family or Obudu that i know?.
Litiam Dad: you heard us clearly,non negotiable two hundred thousand naira.
Zedicus Piro: Oga in law Na super market sale price, everything is negotiable,i came with 7naira.
Litiam Dad: Young man if you are not ready leave my compound.
Zedicus Piro: oya take the two hundred thousand naira and gimme my commodity sorry wife.
Litiam Dad: You call my daughter a commodity?
Zedicus Piro: that's her pet name.
Litiam Dad: Alright troublesome customer
Zedicus Piro: You call me a troublesome customer ?
Litiam Dad: That's your pet in-law name.
Zedicus Piro: Alright,thank you business man,you invested energy of five seconds on bed and got two hundred thousand. Dady you are indeed In-Bed business man .

I was tolerated by all because my personality goes peacefully before me. They handed my wife to me after fulfilling other marital rites as the tradition demands to avoid rumors of gossip in the street that i married on credit and the next two days was our wedding in the church, Catholic church of course. I appeared on some mix colors that attracted laughter from my guest and even the officiating priest. The wedding began and proceeded to the exchange of vows. The priest asked "Zedicus Piro do you sincerely take Litiam as your lawfully wedded wife in good and bad times, for better for worse, in sickness and in health and you promise to be faithful,loyal and honest always?" I said Father pardon, the priest took a deep breath and repeated himself, i responded "E no easy but yes i will manage". The congregation was in laughter as Litiam responded to her question "Yes, i will and i need the help of God." The priest jokingly responded "it seems you guys are not ready let's call off the wedding." I said Father what will happen to all the Rice, drinks in the kitchen and even your offertory. The congregation was in laughter again, everyone knew me and were not disappointed hence they understood all the words.

The mass of my wedding came to an end as the priest said Go in peace to love and serve the lord, there was a thunderous Amen and i could sense people saying Zedicus Piro Na case individuals. We match out dancing in My best way as it is said in Obudu dance na dance to the point where we were to take pictures just in front of the church. the Mc called Couples with parents, they came out with my dad lost in his cassava starched agbada. the Mc looking confused on what was next on the menu walked closed to me, "excuse Zedicus Piro is this a mistake or really written by you?".i ordered him to go ahead its a take not mistake. The Mc proceeded Couples with Amebo (gossip) friends, no one came out except my mother. The Mc call next Couple with Girls that works in department of twisting legs for camera ,No one came out,the Mc repeated again, i said Mc don't worry, she is standing beside me. My wife gave me a slap that restore my peaceful sense.

Marriage was over, we were back home, everyone was gone,the making of my family began. first few days were very rosy as there was still enough of the little gifts we got from friends. Months pass by and i began wondering if its the Litiam i married, attitudes change, Patten of love change, money was not even available, Litiam was no longer submissive, my friend i borrow money came asking, There was no peace in my house and heart. The pressure from all angle could not sustain my first lucrative job i secured as i fell sick for months. Litiam ran away that i was infected and posses by witchcraft. i wept and shouted Litiam Why? Marriage Why? six months later like Nollywood movies will say things got back to track for me but i changed my notion that whoever says i won't marry is not in love TO whoever said i won't marry have had the worst of it or haven't hard the best of it. Litiam came back asking for forgiveness and i didn't hesitate to welcome her back. People that heard my story marvel at the type of man i am and had a earned reason to forgive whatever wrong someone did to them. My story is use as part of marital counseling,my ability to forgive earned me recognition to give talks about marital forgiveness.

LESSON: Everyone has a reason to marry and it maybe for money, just to have children, pressure from significant others ,love etc but all these reasons often become regrettably because of inability to tolerate. Man was born entirely different with unique and strange characteristics that makes up a personality and are united by marriage cum marital adjustment. In the 21th Century marriage issues are not solve by divorce but reconciliation. Whoever initiated the notion of marriage vows had a careful study about marriage and so intend to sustain marriages hence was an enemy of divorce but whoever undertakes marriage vows is ready. Being Ready means you have understood Marriage is not a race, style or occupation that has finish line,fade out or has retirement level,No ,Marriage is marriageable and what is marriageable is forever without divorce.
