RESIDENTS FLED RIVERS COMMUNITY AFTER A LETTER FROM A CULT GROUP

Residents of Ubimini Community in Emohua local government area of Rivers State has fled their homes following a letter from a cult group to the community.

The cult group had written to the community they are coming like the second coming of the lord to "host their flag" in the same village.

The letter was dropped at the door of the community chairman at night time. After reading the letter several meetings have been holding by the community members who resolved the police should be informed immediately.

Despite the police assurance to them of beefing up security in the area, some members of the communities have fled the area for safety sake.

Their fear is because they don't know what the cult group means by "hosting a flag in the area" and a similar incident is alleged to have happened in the neighboring community that left many of it indigenes dead.

The cult group are alleged to have written the neighboring community to prepare for their coming but they took it less concerned because they felt cultists goes after themselves. The cult group are alleged to have stormed the village with guns and machetes killing innocent persons.

It was suspected by some to be politically influenced while others outlined politics and cultism as "often related".

Ubimini community calls on the authority to come to their help as such letter was a big threat to lives. The community had formed a vigilante group who stay awake with cutlasses and clubs at various entrance to the village as measures to protect themselves from the threat.

Rivers State is dominated with alleged practice of cultism though clashes is often between rival cult groups but it suspected new style of hurting even non members has generated fears about the escalated danger of cultism in Nigeria and fears for the future. An On-Social personality in Nigeria had warn about the high "risks everyone" in the society would face in time to come because of Cultism.

Observation allegedly reveals that about five thousand People die from cultism yearly in Nigeria and Many more are initiated yearly. It is now a major threat to peace and unity at Grassroot and National level.
