DINO MELAYE SHADES TEARS IN SENATE PLENARY
Senator representing Kogi-West constituency Dino Melaye has shaded tears in yesterday's plenary over the hardship of Kogi state workers.
Workers in Kogi State are yet to be paid salary for over fifteen Months by the governor, Yahaya Adoza Bello despite the bail out fund paid to each state by the federal government.
Dino Melaye who was on his kneels and in tears prayed the house should intervene to make life meaningful to workers in Kogi State and safe further suicides.
Last week Edward Soje, a Director in Kogi State teaching service commission committed suicide after his wife delivered triplet. The wife blamed non payment of salary to be the reason for the husband demised.
Dino's who is known to some as very controversial posted the picture of his pray in yesterday plenary on instagram and captioned it "please Save Kogi State", "Please Help us,Kogi workers are dying". He was praised by his followers though some described it as his usual "noisy political stunt".
Dino Melaye Instagram post has gone viral on Social Media and a Nigerian Taiwo Abubakar reacted to the picture as "What has Dino done for his constituency to end the suffering? It is not about acting drama to get attention, if Kogi indigenes are suffering the blame goes to every elected leader of the state, the variation is the proportion at which it is shared. The governor should please pity them and do the right thing deviant of political and selfish influence else prison is waiting for him."
Others reacted that it is not only Kogi workers that are suffering but the entire Nigerian workers and Unemployed Nigerians. They pleaded for our leaders to lead us not to "hardships but to wellbeing".
Last week the Kogi State head of service Deborah Ogunmola said workers yet to be paid are those having different issues of false declaration of age, absenteeism from work and among others.
Governor Yahaya Bello and Dino Melaye are not in good terms because of political misunderstanding. Early this year He was alleged to be behind a petition calling for the return of Senator Dino Melaye from the senate by his constituency but that was kicked out in court.
The non harmonious relationship is described by some to contribute to the lingering problems in the state.
