CORPERS PASSED OUT WITHOUT PAYMENT OF ALLOWANCE

Batch B, stream 1 of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have passed out ceremoniously without payment of last month allowance.

The monthly basic allowance of N19,800 for each corp member was adopted by the federal government of Nigeria as part of reward for the meritorious service but that is yet to be fulfilled this month.

The batch B corp members who passed out yesterday were all appreciated for their services to their father land and encouraged to sustain the unity of Nigeria.

As usually done in each passing out batch, the corp members contributes just a token in their various places of primary assignment which is used to cook,eat and drink collectively.

Their plans of maintaining such ritual of celebration was caught short by the yet to be paid allowance. In various passing out local government areas across the states, the only celebration sustained was just taking of so many pictures with each others displaying their NYSC certificates and hungry stomachs.

Some of the corp members that served in Calabar, Cross River State vented disappointment about the non payment of allowance as they intend to travel immediately back to their state of origin while others serving in the state had to borrow to make it to the center of collecting their NYSC discharged and some that could not afford to borrow are yet to collect their discharged certificates.

Efforts to get the reasons for the delay in payment of allowee as fondly called that often don't even sustained corp members for a duration of 30 days was fruitless but the state coordinator incharge of Cross River told a collection of the corpers in Calabar to remain calm as payment is just few hours away.

It was gathered that even the states monthly stipend is yet to be paid completely to the just passed out corp members but despite the complains of no allowee some of the corpers who fell in love were spotted happily engaging themselves. 

The Batch B,stream 1 corpers so thank the grateful government for saving their money and called on them to kindly passed them out with the payment of allowee and ensure the steady flow of allowance to serving corp members in order to end the option of going to bed with empty stomachs and hunger makeup faces.
