CHRIS NGIGE: BUHARI ADMINISTRATION HAS CREATED SEVEN MILLION JOBS
Minister of Labour and Employment,Dr Chris Ngige has opened up to news men in Aso Villa that Buhari led federal Government has created over Seven Million Jobs since it came on board in 2015.
Dr Ngige who was yesterday in Aso Rock for a meeting with the president said Buhari government has fulfilled it campaign promise to Nigerians of creating jobs.
He counted areas like N-Power, NDE and agricultural sector as proved to his statement. Chris added that, employment was not just "white collar jobs" for university graduates as what comes to the mind of many once its mentioned but "blue collar jobs" too.
"We promised jobs when we started in 2015,we have so have achieved that through Agriculture and it chains. Over two million Nigerians have been employed in rice tilling, harvesting, jut bag making."
"The N-power has also offered over five million Nigerians the opportunity of working like Plumbers, Electricians, tillers, Shoe makers, Cosmetologists and several others. My meeting with the President was to discuss where we are, how best to progress and the issue of National minimum wage."
As expected under the freedom of speech, Nigerians reacted angrily to Dr Chris address with most describing it asallow"cover up of shameful disappointments" while some asked where are the employees please?
One Mr John said "it is a shame to hear such truthful disappointed lies, maybe he meant to say seven thousand people,if only the number is up to that. Am surprise to hear N-Power that is just temporal being boastfully counted as employment. If our leaders really want to boast, they should do what is worth."
John added that "however,If out of over 50 millions unemployed youths, just Seven Million Nigerians have been employed as he says with our bless resources is that not a fail mark? Nigerians are not happy at all".
Other reactions praised the present government efforts in dealing with unemployment in the country, saying "all can't be employed in a day".
Nigeria is passing through high unemployment era caused by corruption, laziness and often poor choices as any other developing nation.
