CRUTECH STUDENT SHOT DEAD JUST OUTSIDE THE CAMPUS

A student of Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH), Calabar Campus Has been shot dead yesterday in his resident.

The student popularly known as Frosh Sunday was Shot dead through the window of his room located at Ekpo Abasi , just a stone throw from the campus at the early hours of yesterday while he was preparing for exams.

Frosh Sunday was a third year student in the Faculty of Engineering and hale from Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.

His death is alleged to be perpetrated by rival cult group fighting for water-leaf supremacy.

Sequel to the death and other threats, the Vice Chancellor of Crutech, Owan Enoh has ordered the delay of final year students examination till the completion of year one to third students examination. It is a security measure to check activities of cultism often associated with final year exams in the institution.

Some Residents in Calabar have condemned the brutal murder and advised youths to stay off cultism as it is a short way to grave.

The body of the deceased student has been deposited in a morgue and would be convey sorrowfully to Ogoja for burial.
