HEAVY RAINFALL DESTROYS 200 GRAVES IN KANO STATE
About 200 hundred graves have been rendered Graveless in Nassarawa local government area of Kano State by Erosion.
The State commissioner of Environment Ali Makoda made it known to news men today when he visited the area as the state mark her sanitation day.
Ali Makoda said plans are already in place to commenced the renovations of the graveyard and few others across the state to give the demised a perfect rest in peace.
The graves are reported to have been destroyed after heavy rainfall last night. The grave side call Tundu Murtala
Graveyard is located in Nassarawa local government area of the state.
Indigenes of the area led by the youth leader pleaded with the government through the commissioner to quickly facilitate the renovation of the graveyard as it is so unhealthy.
They lament no salary for workers of the graveyard despite how people pay to the authorities to burry their love ones.
As usually expected Social Media have been thrilling over the news with Nigerians blaming the state government for not considering the topography of the area before establishing the permanent home of the deceased call graveyard.
A lady Tina Akpan who hale from Cross River State said "Am familiar with that place,my parents were residing there before we relocated back to Calabar last year. It is a known graveyard in the area, it's so unfortunate about the incident but hey its no man fault,its just a natural disaster,hands should just be on deck to quickly renovate the graveyard as it so dangerous before it add to this period of strange sicknesses."
One Toyin said "Na waoh o so even dead body no go rest peacefully for this country again, please Kano state should not sleep over it before the dead get angry."
Other reactions call on the government to ensure quick response to renovating the area and proper drainage be created as it was an abomination to the culture of Nigeria. Properties and houses are alleged to have been destroyed too by the rainfall.
