LANDLORD KILLED TENANT TWO DAYS TO HIS WEDDING IN OWERRI

A tenant has been beaten and stabbed severally to death by his Landlord Paul Okparaugo in the city of Owerri, Imo State at the late hours of Wednesday after a little misunderstanding.

The late tenant Udochukwu iwuoha who is also an indigene of the state had tender a complain to the Landlord about the odor and noise from one of his son poultry behind his two bedroom flat. Mr Udochukwu complained severally the poultry was contributing to his often ill health and offensive smell of his house.

Trouble broke when the landlord children got back from their place of minor works later in the evening and accused Mr Udochokwu of being a wizard and anti progress. The tenant tried to utter some words but the children who were five in number descended on him. Mr Udochokwu tried to run for safety but he was stabbed on different parts of his body to death.

They children are said to be on the run after they waited to confirmed udochokwu was dead. Neighbors who could not intervened for fear of the wild children later took Udochokwu to the hospital but he died while waiting for police report that wasn't forth coming that night.

Residents in the area who could not intervene to safe life were reported to stormed the compound premise on Thursday morning destroying properties and attempted to set the house ablaze but were stopped by the police in the area.

A friend of the deceased who poured out condolence on his Instagram handle said "Its with deep regrets that my friend is gone just two days to his traditional marriage. Oh life is good but humans are so cruel. I was supposed to be his best man in the white wedding schedule for next week but all that dream is gone. He often lament to me about the hatred from his landlord and intend to pack out after his marriage but unfortunately they cut short his life. Am consoled that death is not the end of man but i will surely miss you till we meet to part no more,Adieu Udo My friend."

Other people who reacted said thank God the wife to be was not around, she may have been injured badly too by the landlord and his children but described it as a "mind injury" that won't heal in the life of the young girl who's most love one and dream of getting married has been brutally murdered. They further pleaded with the authority to ensure justice for the deceased to serve as a deterrent to others.

The sad incident was confirmed by the police and the search for the culprits is on. The police called on anyone with useful information in regards to the whereabouts of the killers to report appropriately to them. Though they assure the deceased family that the culprits must be brought to book.

Landlord - Tenant problems is peculiar to Nigeria society especially for single rooms tenants also known as "face me ah face you". The pressure between the both often arises because of unpaid house rents, increased house rents, alleged theft of tenants belongings by landlord children who are mostly touts, unwelcome nature of landlords for tenants guests, frequent use of the toilets by tenants and other minor issues that often escalate because of the indifferent feelings and non harmonious relationship.
