LION KILLED ZOO ATTENDANT IN OYO

A lion rumored with the name Lucky Rise has killed a zoo attendant in Oyo the western part of Nigeria after it was being fed late by the man. The attendant popular known as Baba Olurunwa but whose real names are Hamzat Oyekunle was brutally wounded by the lion and later died in the hospital.

According to an eye witness, the lion tore the man apart as he made his way to feed it and other animals. Before he could be rescued, the sad did was done. Lion is known to be one of the most powerful animals which makes it highly dreaded by man despite how some of it are termed.

The management have shut down the zoo till further notice. It was gathered that Baba Olurunwa had a very good relationship with all the animals and have worked there for five years.

Condolences have been sent in to the family of the deceased and the state government described Hamzat Oyekunle death as a "regrettably lose." While others described the man's death as a "demise of a comedian."

Reacting further one lady was of the view that "its negligence and poor funding of the zoo by the concerned authority that resulted to the incident, if the government can subject man that's so important to hungry is it animals that will be an exception. This should serve as a warning that if the level of hungry increases in Nigeria we may start eating ourselves raw,maybe we are already. May the soul of baba olurunwa rest in perfect peace."

The incident at the Oyo zoo that have existed many decades ago but became fully active in 1974 is said to be first in it history. The Oyo zoo is the destination for most tourists and it closure would affect revenue generated from there. However the closure only means visitors are not allowed in exception of trained personnel who have been contacted to look into the wellbeing of the animals.

The deceased is survived by a wife, children and other relatives to mourn him.
