I HEAR SAY: FORMER DEPUTY COMPTROLLER GEN. OF CUSTOMS NOW A PEASANT FARMER IN OBUDU

Rumors also known as "i hear say" circulating around Obudu local government area and environs of Cross River state has it a former deputy comptroller general of customs is now just a peasant farmer in a remote village of the local government. 

The rumors has it the man hale from Igbong village of Obudu and occupied the position in the mid 90s but was dismissed by late General Sani Abacha for unknown reasons rumored to be the product of people's cry answered by God the wicked punisher.

As my ears grabbed when the rumors passed, the man never helped any son of the soil not even his siblings and whoever dared ask receives words of abuse. Oh! the rumors wept!.

He is back to the same village now that never meant anything to him and abandoned by his children and Yoruba wife who are all in London chilling their life. 

The man who has a street in lagos named after him,did come home in jeeps and lived large now survive from growing mini crops like water yam, water leaf, pumpkin, okro etc from the small piece of unfertile land in his backyard and effort to get a bigger portion of land was gladly denied by members of the community.

The rumors also has it the man has lost respects completely even before fowls that now so avoid grazing to his edifice in the village. 

Despite the rumors that flies about even with cotton wools to clean and ensure each ears hears the gist, many are yet to learn the moral of the gist. 

It is well rumored that Obudu sons and daughters that God has bless to be in various positions have gone beyond finding it difficult to help to sole burial of helping. Help has been buried happily hence stopping even outsiders that intend to help from helping once they hear of the names in the family and area. Oh the rumor keep weeping!!. 

Respect as the rumors says its earned,all those that have buried the ways of earning respect should be glad to face it when rugged hours comes. 

The rumors also has it youth of this generation should direct all hopes to God only and not in any man as it is a big disappointment.
